  • Use

    The area is to be used for activities within office, contractors, industry, warehouses, skilled trade, workshop, production and transport as well as port purposes involving dock and pier facilities, terminal functions and similar port facilities. The offshore area may be used for anchoring and mooring

  • Current conditions

    The area covers an area of some 3 ha

  • Building provisions

    New buildings are to have a maximum height of 12 metres The necessary off shore areas may be filled in. When finished, the filled area must be level.

  • Remaining available space

    An area is being laid out from the coast into the sea, where a port facility with associated port functions, such as crane and storage facilities on land (not filling space, unloading facilities, etc.) can be established. There can inside the harbor area happen a fulfillment of the harbor basin from the coast to, for example, storage space for containers or possibility of expansion. When fulfilling, the harbor mooring, boat pitches and Royal Arctic Line's loading and unloading facilities must be taken into account. New buildings must not be used for residential purposes. In the harbor area, boulders (large stones) that can provide shelter from ice floes and waves.

    The existing system of thoroughfares provides access to the other areas and functions in the area

  • Regulated zones

    The area is covered by the tank facility’s safety zone. The safety zone has a radius of 50 metres from the outer limit of the tank facility. This part of the area cannot be developed or in any other way be used contrary to the safety zone provisions.Regulated zones exist around the airport in the shape of obstacle limitation surfaces that consist of partly a horizontal surface and a conical surface, partly approach and take-off surfaces in continuation of the runway. The area is located under the airport’s obstacle limitation surface, and is covered by the conical surface, where the maximum ridge level of buildings and facilities is variable, having a positive slope away from the outer limit of the horizontal surface.

  • Special provisions

    In the area, jetties and other facilities for dinghies may be established. New buildings are not to be used for residential purposes. Heavily polluting companies may set up in the area. The establishment of a heavily polluting company presupposes an environmental permit, pursuant to the Government of Greenland’s Executive Order no. 11 of 20 August 2004 on environmental approval of heavily polluting companies etc. Dog keeping is not permitted in the area
