    The use of the area is determined for technical purposes and may be used for public functions and facilities, in the form of depositing of excess soil and excavated sea sediment from construction work at the airport.
    Buildings may not be furnished or used for living.
    Areas not used for buildings, facilities and roads etc. must be preserved in its natural state.

  • Current conditions

    The area covers an area of ​​approximately 20.0 ha

  • Building provisions

    New buildings may be built up to a maximum of 1 floor.
    New buildings must be designed taking into account the area's landscape and proximity to the airport.
    The necessary water areas, lakes and bogs must be filled. The filling must leave the area with a slightly sloping plane. The filling must be done according to an overall plan approved by Avannaata Kommunia.

  • Remaining available space

    No special provisions.

  • Traffic service and utilities

    Only temporary work roads and other facilities can be built in the area, which ensure the area's purpose and use in form of depositing surplus land.

  • Listed, protected and preservation-worthy features

  • Regulated zones

    Claused zones have been defined around the airport in the form of obstacle-free surfaces which consist of, on the one hand, a horizontal plane and a conical surface and partly of approach and exit surfaces in the extension of the runway.
    The area is located within the barrier-free plan at the airport and is covered by entry and exit surfaces. The maximum tilting elevation for buildings and structures and construction elevation for roads is variable and depends on distance to the runway and a perpendicular distance from the centerline.

  • Special provisions

    A particularly polluting business can be established in the area. When setting up a particularly polluting company, an application must be made on environmental approval according to the Home Rule Government's order no. 11 of 20 August 2004 on environmental approval of particularly polluting companies etc.
    Deposits may only take place within the laid out construction areas, cf. Appendix 1, which i.a. is delimited in relation to existing cabins within the sub-area.
