Centre areas

The area is to be used for centre purposes with dock, shops and store as well as exhibition, conference and restaurant facilities

The area covers an area of some 2.7 ha. New buildings which will replace existing buildings to be demolished, must be built with maximum the same ridge height.

New buildings are to have a maximum height of two storeys.

Some new housing / center functions can be built on the basis of a concrete assessment. Based on a concrete assessment, it is possible to add to existing buildings.

From the area, access is to be provided to the other areas and functions in the settlement by means of the existing system of wheel tracks and paths

B-803 and B-807 are listed buildings. These buildings can only be demolished or their appearance otherwise changed following prior permission by the Greenland National Museum. B-808 are preservation-worthy. B-808 can only be demolished or its appearances changed following prior permission by the municipal council. Part of the area is designated a heritage area (section-2 area).

The area is covered by the tank facility’s safety zone. The safety zone has a radius of 20 metres from the outer limit of the tank facility. This part of the area cannot be developed or in any other way be used contrary to the safety zone provisions.

New buildings must be coordinated with the establishment and construction of new infrastructure. Outside of the heritage area, a waste receiving facility may be set up.
