The area is to be used for activities within office, contractors, industry, warehouses, skilled trade, workshop, production and transport as well as port purposes involving dock and pier facilities, terminal functions and similar port facilities. The offshore area may be used for anchoring and mooring. Furthermore, the area can be used for storage (not landfill site, dump etc.). Within the area, technical supply plants can be established to supply the area. The location and design of the plants are to be determined, while respecting the neighbouring buildings and the unbuilt areas

The area covers an area of some 24 ha

  • Building provisions

New buildings are to have a maximum height of 10 meters.

  • Remaining available space

Some new commercial buildings can be built on the basis of a concrete assessment. Based on a concrete assessment, it is possible to add to existing buildings.

  • Regulated zones

The area is covered by the tank facility’s safety zone. The safety zone has a radius of 50 metres from the outer limit of the tank facility. This part of the area cannot be developed or in any other way be used contrary to the safety zone provisions. Regulated zones exist around the airport in the shape of obstacle limitation surfaces that consist of partly a horizontal surface and a conical surface, partly approach and take-off surfaces in continuation of the runway. The area is located under the obstacle limitation surface at the airport and is covered by approach and take-off surfaces. The maximum ridge level of buildings and facilities and the construction level of roads are variable and depend on the distance to the runway and a right-angled distance from the centre line. The area is located under the airport’s obstacle limitation surface, and is covered by the horizontal surface, where buildings and other facilities cannot be established higher than level 134.1 metres and roads no higher than level 129.1 metres.

  • Special provisions

Using the area for industry and port requires a separate permission from Greenland National Museum (NKA)
