    The use of the area is determined for technical purposes in the form of an asphalt plant. Buildings may not be furnished or used for living. Areas not used for buildings, facilities and roads etc. must be preserved in its natural state.

    The area covers an area of ​​approximately 2.3 ha.

  • Building provisions

    Facilities can be erected up to a maximum of 23 meters and must at the same time respect the airport's requirements for obstacle-free airspace.

  • Traffic service and utilities

    The area is serviced by road from Mittarfimmut Aqqutaa, which can be extended to the area where the new terminal building for the new airport will be located.

  • Regulated zones

    Restricted zones have been defined around the airport in the form of obstacle-free surfaces consisting of, on the one hand, a horizontal plane and a conical surface and partly of approach and departure surfaces in the extension of the runway. The area is located within the obstacle-free plane at the airport and is covered by the approach and departure surfaces. The maximum tilting elevation for buildings and structures and construction elevation for roads is variable and depends on the distance to the runway and a perpendicular distance from the center line. Mittarfimmut Aqqutaa is classified as a primary traffic road. Mittarfimmut Aqqutaa is covered by the road construction line. However, parking, sales space etc. can be established. within the road construction line. A road construction line of 20 m measured from the road center is determined for the new road as an extension of Mittarfimmut Aqqutaa.

  • Special provisions

    A particularly polluting business can be established in the area. When setting up a particularly polluting company, an application must be made on environmental approval according to the Home Rule Government's order no. 11 of 20 August 2004 on environmental approval of particularly polluting companies etc. Area must be secured for a toboggan track and hiking route east of the airport between Ilulissat and the areas north of the city up to Oqaatsut.
